Used Motorhomes Spring Checks

Now that the motorhome season is almost upon us in 2012, Motorhome Sales would like to remind you of the  routine checks you need to make on your used motorhome.  Most of our motorhomes would have been stored for the winter and being sugject to freezing temperatures, wind, rain and snow, which are not a good combination for your vehicle that is not being regularly used.

It is a good idea to get your used motorhome checked by a professional to make sure you are not left stranded or without important facilities.  If you give us a call at motorhome sales we will gladly take a look at your useu

 The Motorhome check consists of:
  • Tyre pressure checks
  • Oil level check
  • Gas Connections:  All of your appliances will have their gas supplied checked and any rubber hoses and connectors will be checked for any damage.  Rubber pipes are prone to perish over time, especially through the winter months.
  • Water Systems: All water systems should be drained and refilled and checked for any leaks.
  • Leisure Battery: A full test should be carried out to make sure the battery sufficiently holds a charge and powers the equipment in your used motorhome.
  • Engine Battery: As with the leisure battery this should be checked thoroughly and also checked to see if it starts the engine ok.  The engine should be started at least every two weeks when the motorhome is not being used.
